In terms of investments, I'm very much like Carrie Bradshaw: "I like my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet". You can take that quite literally, as I took advantage of my big, open bedroom to store and display all my fashion acquired over the years.
As it was the case with the bed, I wanted a minimal design for my wardrobe. Something clean and simple, open and airy. I discovered these structures made out of water pipes on Pinterest and never wanted anything else afterwards. Later on I discovered RackBuddy from Denmark, a young company that ships all over Europe and can provide you with a wardrobe solution that is exactly how you dreamed it. You simply draw your concept and they turn it into a reality!
As you might have guessed, I have a lot of clothes, so I wanted to make the best use possible of the space I had, both in length and in height. Hence, the two levels of hanging space! Not the most practical thing since I have to take a small ladder to reach the clothes stored on the upper level, but who cares. I was never one to consider practicalities first and I always choose aesthetics over comfort.
Again, I'm a big fan of the contrast between the rawness of the wardrobe and the refinement of the room (praise the lord for these mansions and their epic ceilings). The mix of ancient and contemporary is very representative of my style. And of course, I enjoy the view of my clothes whenever I'm in the bedroom. After all, the reason why you buy clothes is because you think they're beautiful pieces, right? There is a lot of black in there though, so I should work on adding more color, prints and texture in the future (oh oh...).
