Florence Citytrip

There aren't many places in the world as enchanting as the Italian Renaissance city Florence. Whether you're a romantic, an art lover or a true foodie, Florence will steal your heart. Which explains why the city is so popular! Think of a labyrinth of authentic, cobbled streets. Masterpieces by Michelangelo and Botticelli. The best pizza, pasta and gelato. Florence is a place you need to savor, like a good glass of wine. You could pack the activities and sights below in two days, but instead I recommend taking your time, getting lost and making it at least a three day trip. Ciao!

South Tyrol

'Gerrit and the City' is all about escapism. Sometimes I take you to unexplored cities and sometimes I take you to more remote places. Consider this my first 'Gerrit and the Mountains' piece as I introduce you to South Tyrol, the region located in the Alps of Northern Italy. A region that's all about contrasts: Alpine and Mediterranean, German-Austrian and Italian, traditional and contemporary. There is nothing quite like finding yourself in this sumptuous mountain landscape to escape everything and refocus on yourself. And when you're feeling a cosmopolitan urge, the capital Bolzano is right there for you!

Milan Citytrip

Milan is very well known for its Fashion Week, as it is one of the fashion capitals next to New-York, London and Paris. But there's more to Milan than just fashion. Some say Milan doesn't offer the real Italian experience, but as a city person I had a blast during my 3-day trip in July. Through the food and the language, I enjoyed the Italian passion to the fullest. And above that, the city actually offers some very beautiful sights. I hope you enjoy this city guide punctuated by Prada, Gucci, etcetera!
